Mirabai:  The Autobiography of an Ashram Feline as told to Ganga Ma Dickinson is the story of a  cat living on an interfaith ashram.

Imagine yourself a five-week-old kitten, ripped away from your mother and family and taken to live on an ashram.  Alone for the first time in your life, you’re both afraid and curious about this place where you’ve been brought to live.  Then you meet an incredible woman.  She comforts you, loves you and clearly understands you.  She is the Guru and it’s from her you get your name, Mirabai.  Next you meet an elderly female cat who, despite being grievously ill, undertakes to train you both in feline skills and ashram responsibilities.  Thus begins your seven-year sojourn on this holy ground called Kashi where you laugh, play and learn until being asked to make the ultimate sacrifice.  Then you show the world what it is to love unconditionally.  Mirabai, the book, is both reverent and irreverent in a cat-like way.
